TEARS OF JOY: poster research

October 2015

Emoji is the fastest growing language in the world. These days we text each other more often than we have face-to-face contact. Emoji seems to be a widely used tool to prevent misunderstandings in text-based communication. With the project Tears of Joy I’m researching the potential of Emoji; Is our script changing? And what are psychological consequences of expressing via icons instead of searching for words?

The Emoji symbols don’t have an unambiguous meaning. This poster campaign is an interactive way to get information about people’s use and interpretation.
